Hello! I’m Mike, and I’m the Station Manager for this year. The Station Manager is different each University Year, and is picked via a presentation and interview process. It’s a full time position, and I’m employed by LUU to ensure that LSR is run smoothly and that you’re all getting involved and enjoying your time here.I basically have my fingers in a wide variety of pies, of all shapes and sizes. If you have any issues with any part of the station, need training etc then I’m a pretty good first port of call.I’m in the office 9-5pm every weekday, so feel free to pop in and talk to me. You can also drop me an email, or give me a Tweet.
Matt Tasker
Deputy Station Manager
info:
Hello, I’m Matt and I’m the Deputy Station Manager. This means that I’m technically in charge in the station manager’s absence (so lets hope that doesn’t happen) and I help in loads of areas of this station. I help with training everyone up with all the technical gear, organising our various events and socials as well as generally helping the station to run as smoothly as possible. Whilst I don’t have a team or anything I’m always available to contact about any problems people may have, I will always try to help. For anybody who wants to get involved in the station I can certainly help with that too. You can find me in the office most days eating a pasty, but if not you can drop me an email or tweet me.
Juliette Ivie
Programme Controller
info:
Hello, I’m the current Programme Controller. Unless you’ve received either a very useful and informative email from me, or a ranting email in which I’m telling you off, you might not know what I actually do! Well, first of all, at the start of each semester Michael Hewitson and I go through the show proposals and decide which shows we would like to commission. Then we arrange the schedule and for the rest of the term, I help ensure everything runs smoothly and we produce the best radio we can. I train members in using both on- and off-air equipment and give them feedback about how to improve their presenting and producing skills. I also ensure that presenters are prepared for their shows and do not swear or act too inappropriately on-air. Also, if you have a show and can’t make it for whatever reason, then let me know because I’ll make sure your hour is covered with content rather than dead-air. Otherwise, I generally help out with the upkeep of our quality broadcasting and with organising events held by the station. If you would like to get in touch with me about anything concerning your show you are welcome to email me, or you’ll generally find me lurking around the LSR office. And make sure you follow me on twitter, just for fun!
Michael Colley

That means talking to local companies and working out the best way to connect LSR’s holy triangle of student, station and freebies to get more listeners. Controllers of social media and the like we are the go to team for promotion and show strategy. If you can’t work out the best way to get listeners on board for your show, or you are interested in joining the team, drop me and email with the subject: I’m a buff baby and I can dance like a man.
